Forestry History - Timberjack The First 50 Years

Timberland Machines Ltd was founded in Woodstock, Ontario in 1947 to supply the eastern logging industry with the machines and tools of the trade. In 1956 just nine years later, the first Timberskidder was built, this being the forerunner of the Timberjack. In 1961 the articulation steered Timberjack was born and set the standard within the forest industry. Since 2006 the Timberjack name has been lost and is made under the John Deere name. Here is a video from '97 that shows Timberjack from its early days to current equipment at that time.
